Jens Mahnke to join the Executive Board of HCI Capital AG
- Jens Mahnke boosts shipping expertise at HCI Capital AG
- Acquisition of König & Cie. Group by the HCI Group has been closed
- Nautical and shipping services to be expanded
- Asset and investment management combined under one roof
Hamburg, 29 March 2016 - Jens Mahnke has been appointed as the third member of HCI Capital AG's Executive Board, alongside David Landgrebe and Ingo Kuhlmann. With his vast knowledge and years of experience in the shipping industry, Jens Mahnke will work with the other Executive Board members to keep driving the Group's strategic realignment.
The acquisition of the König & Cie. Group announced in January 2016 has now been implemented following approval from the German competition authorities. CONVELAS GmbH was the main advisor for the transaction.
The takeover of König & Cie., where Jens Mahnke will remain managing director, is a strategic addition to the service portfolio of the HCI Group, which positions itself as an asset and investment manager with a focus on the maritime sector. It strengthens the HCI Group's range of maritime services and will sharpen its profile in asset and investment management. With this move the HCI Group is underlining its focus on the two areas.
The new group of companies combines activities in shipping-related services and asset and investment management with the fiduciary administration of existing funds for private and institutional investors. Its jointly managed fleet will then comprise over 220 ships (container vessels, tankers, bulkers and RoRo), of which 180 are held by limited partnerships.
